Beef short ribs in tomato, garlic & red wine
Here is a very simple way to cook the most amazing beef short ribs in your own kitchen! This tasty dish will leave your family or guests with a huge smile on their face
Ingredients
1 x whole beef short rib (4 ribs)
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp olive oil
Sauce ingredients
1 litre tomato pasta sauce
1 cup water
1/2 cup red wine
6 x fresh garlic cloves crushed
2 x brown onions finely chopped
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp dried oregano
3-4 twigs fresh thyme
Method
1-Pre heat oven to 150 degrees Celsius
2- Remove short ribs from fridge 1 hour before cooking. Slice between the bone to get 4 individual short ribs then season with olive oil, salt & pepper
3-Place the short ribs in a dish and cook for 45 minutes
4-Combine all sauce ingredients in a casserole
5-Remove short ribs from the oven and place in the casserole dish, put the lid on and cook the short ribs for 4 hours at 135 degrees Celsius
6-Remove the casserole pot from the oven and rest for 10-15 minutes with the lid off before serving
